Amending Records when Electronic Integrating Resources Change Title

General information

Many Internet resources catalogued as Integrating titles continue to change and evolve over time. This is particularly the case with home pages. There are moves to create latest entry records for titles that are ongoing, particularly electronic publications and loose-leaf type titles. With this in mind, the following procedures are being implemented to accommodate changes in title for non-serial electronic publications.

Date information in the Date 1 sub-field of Publication status field should NOT be changed. This information reflects the entire life of the publication, not just the life of the current title.

Change the information to reflect current title.

Use the variant title field for current variant titles. Previous variants should be moved to the 247 field.

Add a former title field with the previous title information. Any previous variant title(s) should be added to separate 247 field(s). If you know when the title changed, include this information in subfield 'f'. (See cataloguing manual for complete details of this field).

Update 'viewed on' date information in note field.
